Funeral services were held on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for A.C. Franklin, 88, of Denniston, Ky., who died on Monday, Oct. 27, at Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center in Hazard, Ky. Burial followed in Shady Grove Cemetery in Cascilla. The Rev. Jimmy Kendall officiated.
Mr. Franklin was born on Nov. 1, 1936, in Cascilla, the son of the late Eula Mayford Franklin and the late Mary Blanchard Franklin. He was a retired truck driver for Allen Canning Company and honorably served our country in the United States Air Force.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Wannette Green Franklin; one son, Mike Franklin; his daughter, Lynette Franklin Atkins; two grandsons, B.J. Bonner and Benjamin Shearer; his sister, and four brothers, preceded Mr. Franklin in death.
Survivors include, three sons, Richard Franklin (Lori) of Denniston, Ky., and Larry Franklin (Cheryl) and Garry Franklin (Nancy), all of Cascilla, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers included Jason Franklin, Jeffery Franklin, Little Larry Franklin, Mikey Franklin, David Lovell and Jeremy Woods. Jimmy Wayne Franklin served as an honorary pallbearer.
