The 74th Annual Grenada Invitational Golf Tournament will be held Aug. 3-4, at the Grenada Country Club course.
The 36-hole medal play flighted golf tournament is the second longest running amateur tournament in Mississippi just behind the Greenwood Golf Club Invitational, who just held its 77th Annual Tournament on July 14-16.
As of Monday, a total of 88 golfers have signed up for the event. Some of the notables taking part in the tournament include Hunter Logan, a former Mississippi State University, who won the event back in 2022. Last year’s champion, Brett Patterson and defending Mississippi Golf Association Player of the Year is not among the field as of yet. Patterson won the Greenwood Invitational last week.
Other participants for this year’s event include Casey Ham and Michael Naaman, who won the tournament in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Ed Wall, the 2019 champion, is listed in the field. Locally, Robert Willis (1997, 1998) and Brent Thomas (2014) will play the 18-hole course.
Tournament action begins each day at 8 a.m. with players put into flights following the opening round of play. The winner of the tournament secures points for the 2024 MGA Player of the Year Award.
