A total of 11 high schools from across the state as well as Arkansas and Tennessee will be in Grenada beginning Friday for the 54th annual Kirk Academy Classic.
Games begin at noon both Friday and Saturday.
The host Kirk Raiderettes face Columbus Christian School at 5 p.m. Friday evening followed by the Kirk Raiders facing Deer Creek School of Arcola at 6:15 p.m.
Saturday, the Raiders will face Central Hinds Academy at 6:15 p.m. followed by the Raiderettes playing Independence High School at 7:30 p.m.
Action begins at noon Friday with Fayette (Tenn.) Academy playing Columbus Christian in boys action. The Fayette girls will play the Leake Academy Junior Varsity girls at 1:15 p.m. followed by Central Hinds girls and Leake girls tipping off at 2:30 p.m. The Central Hinds and Leake boys play at 3:45 p.m. Class AAAAAA Jackson Academy closes the opening night of play matching up with Independence High School at 7:30 p.m.
Day 2 opens at noon with the Delta Streets boys of Greenwood facing Deer Creek followed by Jackson Academy and Calhoun Academy girls at 1:15 p.m. Leake and DeSoto (Ark.) School girls play at 2:30 p.m. followed by Leake and Fayette boys at 3:45 p.m. The 5 p.m. game features Calhoun and Fayette girls.
Concessions will be available both days.
