With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Teresa Gail Browning-Carpenter, who left us on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada. Burial followed in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery in Paynes. Pastor Damon Tipton officiated.
Teresa was born on Sept. 17, 1964, the beloved daughter of Morris and the late Gloria Browning. She lived in Grenada for most of her life where she cherished time spent on the lake, boating and enjoying the outdoors. She loved to travel, spend quiet nights by the fire and cook meals that brought joy to those around her. She had a deep appreciation for good music and a special bond with her fur babies.
As a dedicated social worker, Teresa was committed to her clients and found fulfillment in helping others. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother and grandmother, always putting her loved ones first.
In addition to her mother, one brother, Ray Browning, preceded Teresa in death.
Survivors include, her father, Morris Browning; her siblings, Robby Browning (Penny) and Vallery Browning, all of Grenada, and Glen Browning (Amy) of Vicksburg; her daughter, Chelsea Browning (David Whitten) of Grenada and her cherished grandson, Gage Browning. She is also survived by her ex-husband and lifelong best friend, Mike Carpenter, of Iuka and a daughter by heart, Sara Brower Ellis.
Teresa will be remembered for her unwavering love, kindness and dedication to those she held dear. Her presence brought warmth and strength to everyone around her, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed in Teresa’s honor to a charity of choice.
