Chargers win meet to open track season

Chargers bounce back from loss winning two

The Grenada Chargers were looking to bounce back from last Monday’s 13-5 loss against Class 6A perennial power DeSoto Central with a contest last Thursday against another team from DeSoto County. This time it was a road game with Olive Branch.

Lady Chargers open division play with win

With only one win in seven tries to open the 2022 season, the Grenada Lady Chargers opened Class 6A, Region 2 play against Starkville last Monday at Grenada. Leslie Lancaster, who is in her 20th season as head coach, didn’t know how her young team would respond.

Golding, Hemphill killed in Grenada city crashes

Longtime businessman Bud Golding is being remembered this week after his untimely death late last week.

The 77-year-old former business owner was killed in a car wreck last Friday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 51 and Perry Road. Family said that he was on his way to Sunflower Café for lunch as he does each week.
