Below is a press release from Mississippi Public Service Commissioner Brent Bailey:
Central District Public Service Commissioner Brent Bailey is hosting a community forum in Madison County to discuss utility services following the severe storm events in June, which caused widespread power outages, and any other questions or concerns utility customers may have about their services.
Commissioner Bailey will provide a brief overview of the Commission’s mission and how it works to ensure that public utility services are delivered efficiently, reliably and affordably. Additionally, the Commissioner will share more information received through the Commission’s comprehensive review of Entergy Mississippi, LLC’s restoration efforts in response to the June 2023 storms. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage with utility representatives who are present for the forum.
The forum will take place on Tuesday, September 12, starting at 6pm at the Pinelake Church campus located at 223 Old Jackson Road in Madison. (Link to flyer)
“Our office receives numerous phone calls and communications on a daily basis from utility customers in the Central District regarding their utility service or bills,” Commissioner Bailey said. “This forum provides customers with the opportunity to learn more about the Commission and its responsibilities. Furthermore, we would like to engage the public in a dialogue about how the Commission and utilities can better serve the needs of the community. We hope to discuss ideas and receive feedback about how best to communicate before, during and after extreme weather events and enhance customer service for all.”
The forum is open to all members of the public and the media. Refreshments will be provided.
For more information about the upcoming event, please email rachael.ring@psc.ms.gov or call 1-800- 356-6430.
