Lady Chargers drop playoff opener

The Grenada High School Lady Chargers opened play last Saturday in the Class 6A Fast-Pitch Playoffs with a road game at Madison Central. GHS scored a run in the opening frame and lost a 16-1 three inning game with the Lady Jaguars.

GYL ends tourney

Heavy rain last Friday afternoon forced postponement of action in the 32nd Annual Frankie Bailey St. Jude Tournament at Wayne Carson Park. Officials were able to get the fields playable and play concluded Saturday.

Grenada track teams qualify members for North 6A Meet

The Grenada High School track teams took part in the Class 6A, Region Track Meet last Thursday at Oxford High School. A total of eight schools took part in the meet, looking to qualify for a berth in the North 6A Meet Saturday at Clinton High School with the Top 4 finishers qualifying for the meet.

Kirk Academy competes in Class AAAA, District 1 Meet
