KA Raiders finish runner-up in North State

GHS girls powerlifters complete season

The Grenada High School girls powerlifting team recently completed its season.

The Kirk Academy tennis team recently competed in the MAIS District Tennis Tournament in Clarksdale. Kirk boys won first place. Kirk girls came in second only losing by a half point. Eleven players took part in the North State Tournament. A total of six players are schedule to take part in the State AAA Tournament this week in Ridgeland. Kirk advances six players to State AAA Tournament

Kirk Academy will be well-representated in the Class AAA Tennis Tournament Wednesday, May 5 at Ridgeland Tennis Center.

Carson Stanford will play in the No. 1 singles division. Chandler Beissel will take part in the No. 2 singles division.

Alderman makes most of opportunity

It’s been a whirlwind week for former Newton County Academy standout Kemp Alderman.

In just a week’s time, Alderman went from being a redshirt to the toast of Oxford.

On Tuesday, Alderman started in left field for Ole Miss in a win over Arkansas-Little Rock. Alderman went 1-for-4 in the game, getting his first collegiate hit.
