A Celebration of Life Service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Friendship Baptist Church in Grenada to celebrate the remarkable life of Mr. Paul Hill Wilbourn Sr., 82, of Grenada, who died on Saturday, March 29, at his residence. Burial followed in Spring Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Tim McCaffrey officiated. The family received friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, April 5, at Friendship Baptist Church.
Paul was born on Sept. 29, 1942, in Grenada, the son of the late Samuel Wilbourn Sr. and the late Ruth Esther Hardin Wilbourn. A man deeply committed to his relationship with Jesus Christ, Paul was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church. Paul was the founder of Wilbourn Cabinets in Grenada, a business that has garnered many accolades for its exceptional work and has been featured in numerous home and construction publications across the mid-South. Paul led by example and believed that anything worth doing was worthy of giving 100 percent— a trait that he made sure to instill in his children.
Paul enjoyed watching Ole Miss Sports, especially men’s basketball. He also enjoyed playing racquetball and working in his yard. Above all, he and his wife, Gloria, cherished the time they got to spend watching their grandchildren flourish in their many activities.
In addition to his parents, his sister, Lois Brassfield, and one brother, Sam Wilbourn Jr., welcomed Paul into Heaven.
Survivors include, his wife of 53 years, Gloria King Wilbourn; two daughters, Rebekah Wilbourn Moulder (David) of Brandon and Esther Wilbourn Benson of Jackson; one son, Paul “Stoney” Wilbourn Jr. (Lisa) of Grenada; one brother, David Wilbourn of Grenada and seven grandchildren, Burkette Moulder, Hensley Moulder, Paul “Trey” Wilbourn III, Sarah Breyden Moulder, Rebekah Brooke Benson, Mary Taylour Wilbourn and Tanner Wilbourn.
Michael Harlow, Bubba Jones, Jason Newcomb, Dillard Quick, Keith Stanford and Michael Winters honored Paul by serving as pallbearers and carried him to rest in Spring Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Gideons International.
