Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona for Mr. Wayne Allen Stoker Sr., 88, of Grenada, who died on Saturday, Sept. 14, in Grenada. Burial followed in Friendship Cemetery in Kilmichael. The Rev. Jack Taylor officiated. Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until service time on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. Stoker was born on March 19, 1936, in Montgomery County, the son of the late Joe Parker and the late Margaret Williams Stoker. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Winona and a mason for more than 50 years. He was a high school teacher for more than 20 years where he taught agriculture and industrial arts.
Survivors include, his wife, Shirley Daniel Stoker; two sons, David Johnson and Allen Stoker; one sister, Jeanette Smith; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren and two nieces.
Pallbearers include, Chad Upton, Wayne Beckwith, Ralph Pullen, Marty Barton, Guy Johnson and Wendell Stoker. Honorary pallbearers were Lawrence Braswell and Howie Williams.
