The family will receive visitors from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, in Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West.
Sylvia was born on May 11, 1944, in Hawthorne, Nev., the daughter of the late Robert and the late Agnes Savage Evans. On May 1, 1990, she was united in marriage to Milton Russell Shepperd in Waco, Texas. Milton preceded her in death on July 11, 2011.
Sylvia worked alongside her husband at Shepperd Cabinet Company in Chalk Bluff, Texas for several years, however, the role she took most pride in was mother and grandmother. She had a warm and nurturing spirit and loved sharing her passion for crafting by giving decorated cards with stickers, just to make people smile. Sylvia’s bonds were strengthened by her dedication to spending time with family and friends. Her unique way of making others feel loved will be remembered fondly.
In addition to her parents and husband, one brother, Jack Evans, and a son-in-law, Bo Blancett, preceded Sylvia in death.
Survivors include, her children, James Hampton of Elm Mott, Texas and Rebecca Wiggins of Round Rock, Texas; grandsons, Mason Blancett and Evan Blancett; a step grandson, Caleb Tuggle; her sister, Amanda “Rosa” Adrian; three brothers, Robert “Bob” Evans Jr. and wife, Linda, Joe Evans and Chester Evans; a niece and caregiver, Cindi Evans, and several other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are James Hampton, Mason Blancett, Evan Blancett, Tristan Torres, Jeff Butcher, Caleb Tuggle, Mike Cooper and Daniel Wiggins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Humane Society of Central Texas.
