It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Marie Palmer, at the young age of 74. She died peacefully on Saturday, July 6, 2024, in her home in Waterford surrounded by her family.
Marie was born on April 24, 1950, in Marshall County, the daughter of Robert and Evelyn Culver. She attended Holly High School. During those years, she helped on the family farm. In 1972, she married the love of her life, Donald Palmer, and they began their love story in Grenada.
Marie worked for many years as a seamstress at the Pennaco Hoisery mill. Throughout her life, she enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, canning vegetables, going to garage sales and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Marie always put others before self. She was a kind and caring soul with a servants heart. Marie attended Spring Hill Baptist Church in Waterford.
Her husband, Donald W. Palmer; her son, Blake Palmer (Tina) of Grenada; her parents, Robert and Evelyn Culver; two brothers, Lester Culver and David Culver, all of Waterford and her devoted partner, Robert L. Herring of Germantown, Tenn., preceded Marie in death.
Survivors include, her daughter, Lorea Palmer Perkins; granddaughters, Mary Katelyn and Anna Claire Perkins of Oxford and four siblings, Clyde Culver (Faye), Calvin Culver (Debbie), Sandra Wilson (William) and Faye Holland (Duck), all of Waterford.
Holly Springs Funeral Home in Holly Springs was in charge of arrangements.
