Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2023, at Christ Community Church in Grenada for Mrs. Lennie Marie Lindsey Bailey, 57, of Grenada, who died on Friday, July 21, at her residence. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The Rev. John Goldwater and the Rev. Rickey Harris will officiate. Family and friends will gather from noon until service time on Monday, July 24, at the church.
Lennie was born on April 24, 1966, in Augusta, Ga., the daughter of the late James Edwin and the late Edna Sue Blakely Lindsey. She loved her family, her country and was an avid supporter of law enforcement. She worked in customer service and served many years as a reserve officer for the Grenada Police Department.
Lennie was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and was a member of Christ Community Church. She will long be remembered for the love she had for her husband, daughter and “sugar bear,” Quinn, and sharing the love of our Lord and Savior. She made it a mission the last several years of her life to share the goodness of God and be sure that everyone she spoke with knew “Jesus Saves.”
In addition to her parents, two brothers, Tim Lindsey and Mike Lindsey, preceded Lennie in death.
Survivors include, her loving husband and caregiver, Irby Bailey; daughter, Kerri Lindsey Deason (Matt) of Grenada; stepdaughter, Belinda Bernard (Brian) of Louisiana; stepsons, Irby Bailey Jr. (Layne) of Grenada and Shannon Bailey (Elizabeth) of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; one brother, Wade Lindsey of Grenada; sister-in-law, Carol Edwards (Bryan) of Grenada; seven grandchildren, Quinn Deason, Chasity Landry (Michael), Brianna Wheaton, Tara Bailey, Michael Bailey, Wyatt Bailey and Ty Bailey and one great grandchild, Braxton Landry.
Pallbearers will be Irby Bailey Jr., Steve Hardin, Matt Lindsey, Wade Lindsey, Nash Tucker and Eddie Willis.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to caregivers, Melissa Vaughn and Sonya Beck, along with the staff of Sunflower Home Health and Adoration Hospice for the professional and loving care provided to Lennie.
