Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2022, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Katherine Winebrenner, 95, who died on Thursday, April 28, at her sister’s residence in Grenada. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service on Monday, May 2, at McKibben and Guinn.
Katherine was born on Oct. 26, 1926. She was an active member of Central Baptist Church where she served for many years. She worked as an office administrator from her younger days at Camp McCain, where she met her husband, Bill, until her retirement. She worked at the “Sale Barn,” Mississippi Valley Gas, Dr. Braswell’s Eye Clinic and Grenada Vocational School, but her real passion was her family.
Katherine loved and served her family selflessly her entire life. She knew how to make us feel special. She was a warm and joyful presence; a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and an amazing cook. We will miss her greatly until we hear her say, “Hey Shugah,” in the Promised Land.
Her husband, William G. Winebrenner; sister, Tommie Childers, and parents, Jim and Katie McCaulla, preceded Katherine in death.
Survivors include, her brother, Jim McCaulla (Paula) of Winona; daughter, Linda Whitehurst (Tim) of Grenada; son Billy Winebrenner (Gail) of Grenada; granddaughter, Amy Killebrew (Casey and Bryce) of Grenada; grandson, Chris Whitehurst (Lashea, Addison, Allyson, Kallen, Jaidyn, Avery and Carter) of Grenada; grandson, Michael Winebrenner (Roxanne, Eli, Jude, Leo and Andi) of Horn Lake; granddaughter, Barbie Robinson (Clint, Wyatt and Levi) of Cookeville, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews including, Lee McCaulla of Torrance, Calif., Paul (Bo) McCaulla (Dianne, Aislin and Rowan) of Cordova, Tenn., Beth Richards (Tyler, Lacey and Brody) of Newark, Ohio, and Emily Picard (Ryan and Noah) of Starkville.
