Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024, in the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel for James K. Thomas, 92, of Grenada, who died on Thursday, March 28, in Grenada. Burial followed in Grenada Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Dr. Cecil Fayard and Bro. Michael Payton officiated. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service on Monday, April 1, at Mortimer National Funeral Home in Grenada.
James was born on Feb. 22, 1932, in Tallahatchie County, the son of the late John Thomas and the late Jennie Lynn Moorman Thomas. He was employed at Pioneer Beef and then at Perma R until his retirement. He was a member of Elliott Baptist Church. James served his country in the United States Army Reserves.
Survivors include, his wife, Clyde G. Thomas, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Elliott Baptist Church.
