Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada for Mr. George Rose, 67, of Duck Hill, who died on Tuesday, June 25, in Oxford. Burial followed in Duck Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Rose was born on Aug. 31, 1956, in Grenada County, the son of the late Huntley and the late Hattie Blakely Rose. He formerly worked for Binswanger and Luvata, and loved cutting grass.
In addition to his parents, his son, Jason Rose; one sister, Betty Rose, and one brother, Charles Rose, preceded Mr. Rose in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Diana Harrison Rose; one sister, Linda Respess (Ronnie) of Gore Springs; two brothers, Huntley Rose of Winona and Bobby Rose of Duck Hill; stepdaughter, Alyssa Greene of Grenada; stepson, Nolan Greene of Itta Bena and one step grandchild, Jordyn Greene, along with several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Nolan Greene, Michael Jackson, Fred Johnston, T.J. Russell, Mike Taylor and Steve Ware.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society.
