A memorial funeral mass will be observed at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Grenada for Mr. Gary Keith Houston, 71, of Grenada, who died on Monday, April 22, in Jackson. Father Arokia Savio will officiate. Family and friends will gather at the church one hour prior to the mass on Friday, May 24.
Gary was born on April 22, 1953, in Logan, Ohio, the son of Stanley Keith and the late Ocean Aldena Tucker Houston. He devoted his career to the manufacturing sector and served in several roles with Ice Industries including, director of operations, plant general manager and manager of tank operations at the Grenada facility. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Grenada. In his spare time, Gary enjoyed working in his yard and playing golf. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will long be remembered as a kind and generous man.
In addition to his mother, two sisters, Connie Parsons and Lorna Stanley, preceded Gary in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Karla Houston; father, Stan Houston of Newark, Ohio; daughters, Christina Dwyer (John) of Newark, Ohio, and Karen Tagle (John) of Bradenton, Fla.; sons, Gary Houston Jr. of Grenada, Kevin D. Cook of Grenada and Robert Logan of Elko, Nev.; one sister, Karen Pitcok of Roseville, Ohio; aunts, Jeannie Borelli of Cleveland, Ohio, and Teddy Tucker of Logan, Ohio; 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
