Graveside services were held immediately following visitation on Friday, May 26, 2023, in Midway Cemetery near Vaiden for Dorothy Ann “Dot” Ross, 83, of Carrollton, who died on Tuesday, May 23, in Jackson. The Rev. Eddie Johnson officiated. Visitation was held from noon until 2 p.m. on Friday, May 26, at Oliver Funeral Home in Winona.
Mrs. Ross was born on June 28, 1939, the daughter of the late Earnest and the late Lucy Lurline Scruggs Johnson. She was a member of Midway United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, her husband, David Hamon Ross Jr.; two infant children, David Michael Ross and Evelyn Ann Ross; five brothers and five sisters, preceded Mrs. Ross in death.
Survivors include, one daughter, Mary Nell Carnaggio (Jimmy) of Carrollton; one son, David H. Ross III (Tina) of Carrollton; one sister, Nell Harrison of Monroeville, Ala.; one brother, Sammy Johnson of Winona; three granddaughters; one great grandson and one great grandson on the way.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Midway Cemetery, c/o Stanley Devine, 49701 Hwy. 430, Vaiden MS 39176.
