Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona for David “Sonny” Tidwell, 79, of Winona, who died on Friday, July 12, in Eupora. Burial followed in Mission Baptist Church Cemetery near Winona. The Rev. Bobby Palmertree officiated. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until service time on Wednesday, July 17, at the funeral home.
Mr. Tidwell was born on June 30, 1945, the son of the late David Franklin and the late Mattie Lou Cochran Tidwell. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents, one sister, Louise Gammill, preceded Mr. Tidwell in death.
Survivors include, his daughter, Karen Carter (Walter) of Carrollton; two sons, David D. Tidwell Jr. (Nikona) of Winona and Paul Lambert (Betty Jo) of Jay, Fla.; sister, Davie Mae Haley of Winona; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
