Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023, at Holcomb Baptist Church for Mr. Caleb Ryan Fields, 31, of Holcomb, who died on Saturday, July 29, at his residence. Burial followed in Bethel Cemetery in the Oxberry Community of Grenada County. The Rev. David Haggerty and the Rev. Kevin Tribble officiated. The family received friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday, Aug. 5, at Holcomb Baptist Church.
Caleb was born on June 9, 1992, in Grenada, the son of Kenneth and Jan Ferguson Fields. Affectionately known as “Hot Rod,” Caleb loved to ride on his golf cart at every opportunity. He attended Holcomb Baptist Church with his family and in true Baptist fashion, could always be found in his seat on the back pew.
His grandparents, Robert Earl and Georgia Fields and Murray P. “Billy” and Betty Ferguson, preceded Caleb in death.
Survivors include, his parents, Kenneth and Jan Fields; sister, Laura Fields, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation for the exceptional care provided by his caregivers, Tammy Campbell Jordan and Wanda Bew.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital.
