Graveside services were held immediately following visitation on Friday, April 5, 2024, in Grenada Memorial Gardens for Mrs. Barbara Hodges Moss, 75, of Grenada, who died on Wednesday, April 3. The Rev. Eugene Heimbach officiated. The family received friends from noon until 2 p.m. on Friday, April 5, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada.
Barbara was born on Oct. 10, 1948, in Grenada, the daughter of the late Albert Russell and the late Blanche Carpenter Hodges. She spent several years in the Grenada Banking System and continued as it became Sunburst and Union Planters. Later, she joined the staff at Entergy and worked there until her retirement.
Barbara was a skilled seamstress, a wonderful cook and a devoted homemaker. Her warm and kind nature made her a joy to be around; her family was always her top priority. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and her passing is a great loss to all who knew her. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, one sister, Jean Crouch, preceded Barbara in death.
Survivors include, her husband of 53 years, Brooks Moss; two sons, Brandon Moss (Kelly) of Baldwyn and Barry Moss (Brandy) of Batesville; one sister, Donna Johnson of Flora, and four grandchildren, Taylor Brooke Moss, Hayley Moss, Brody Pee and Maddie Ruth Moss.
Keith Bloodworth, Seth Davidson, Donald Johnson, Scott Moss, Logan McDaniel, Hugh Taylor and Bobby White honored Barbara by serving as pallbearers and carried her to rest in the Grenada Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
