Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Winona for Alfred Earl “Doakus” Hodges, 88, of Winona, who died on Saturday, May 20, in Greenwood. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona. The Rev. Tracy Putnam officiated. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until service time on Wednesday, May 24, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. Hodges was born on Oct. 13, 1934, in Grenada, the son of the late Daniel and the late Beatrice Hodges. He was a member of North Winona Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Ann; one granddaughter; four sisters and three brothers, preceded Mr. Hodges in death.
Survivors include, his daughter, Lisa Hodges Barnett (Richard) of Winona; his son, the Rev. Brad Hodges (Beth) of Pontotoc; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
