The Nation's Weather for Monday, January 20, 2025
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Downwind of the Great Lakes, lake-effect snow showers and
squalls will persist tomorrow. Heavy snow showers can
quickly reduce visibility and lead to slippery travel. In
South Florida, there can be a few showers or a bit of
drizzle. Otherwise, a developing winter storm will bring
snow to Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma with ice and rain
mixing across South Texas. Snow and ice will expand
overnight encompassing most of eastern Texas and much of
Louisiana. Travel conditions will be rapidly deteriorating
with ice expected on roadways. The rest of the nation will
be dry, but very cold. From the Rocky Mountains on east,
temperatures will be 15-25 degrees below average. In
Southern California, strong Santa Ana wind gusts combined
with dry brush will lead to a high fire danger.
