NATIONAL SUMMARY
Lake-effect snow showers and squalls will continue downwind
of the Great Lakes tomorrow. Snow can cause poor visibility
and slippery travel. In the Northeast and Great Lakes
regions, strong winds will persist throughout the day before
tapering off at night. The strong breeze will usher in an
arctic air mass leading to very cold weather. Meanwhile, a
storm in the West will spread rain from Central California
to northern Washington. There will be mountain snow, some
heavy, in the Washington and Oregon Cascades as well as the
Sierra Nevada. Snow showers will extend through Nevada and
Idaho. It will be dry across the southern Plains and
Southwest, but there will be a noticeable breeze. Dry
weather and sunny skies can be expected in the Southeast as
