The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, December 11, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
A storm will bring heavy rain and thunderstorms from Maine
to Florida tomorrow. Along the coastal parts of the
Northeast and mid-Atlantic, heavy thunderstorms can be
accompanied by damaging wind gusts. Otherwise, windy
conditions will extend across much of the eastern United
States. The highest wind gusts of 50-70 mph will be confined
to the immediate coast and can lead to localized power
outages. Meanwhile, across the interior Northeast, rain will
transition over to snow in the afternoon and evening hours.
Across the Great Lakes region, another lake-effect snow
event will begin. Heavy snow showers can bring rapid
reductions in visibility and slippery travel. Across the
Rockies and southern Plains, it will be warm with dry
weather and mainly sunny skies.
