The legend of 19-year-old Mississippi baseball phenom Konnor Griffin continues to grow and grow with each home run blast, each stolen base, each fielding gem, each promotion. Who knows where he will be when he reaches the legal age of 21?
My guess would be Pittsburgh. And his Major League debut may come sooner than that.

I first noticed it growing along the roadsides about four weeks ago. Barely a foot tall, I recognized it right off. Now, a month later, it shimmers in the breeze offering an iridescent hue, resembling that of an oceanic wave of turquoise.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home in Oxford for Mrs. Vicky Holland Melton, 75, who died peacefully on Friday, Nov. 7, surrounded by her family in Oxford. Burial followed in North Oxford Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Chris Williams and the Rev. Kevin Smith officiated.
