Millcreek of Grenada started a new tradition this year and hosted its first-ever Field Day earlier this month.
Sundra Quinn, Director of Clinical Services at Millcreek in Grenada, was overjoyed and thankful for the day.
“Our inaugural Field Day was a great success,” she said. “I have a great group of co-workers who I could not have done any of this without. I want to thank my staff for their participation with all of the games and food and donations. Without any of their help we could not have made this day happen. I want to give a very special thank you to Emmanuel Baptist Church for the use of their pavilion. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful location for a Field Day.”
Dillon Melton leads his fellow day residents in the sack race.
The event was held at Emmanuel Baptist Church outside pavilion on June 1, 2022.
Quinn wanted to make sure Millcreek was able to experience a fun-filled Field Day just like all the other local schools.
“I noticed some of the schools here in town were doing field days for their end-of-the-year parties and I thought we need to do this,” Quinn said. “Tina Swinford, who is a member of Emmanuel and also an employee of Millcreek, was able to get our location set. Then we got to work on ordering games like egg in the spoon and sack race.
Quinn looks forward to hosting another Field Day next year and for years to come.
“These sweet daytime visitors of Millcreek had the absolute best time,” she concluded. “I cannot wait until next year, so that we can do it all again.”
