Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025, in the McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service Chapel in Grenada for Mabry Allen Brown, 42, of Grenada, who died on Friday, Feb. 14, in Johnstown, Pa. Due to limited space, only immediate family attended the graveside service, which immediately followed. Visitation for family and friends to share memories and thoughts was held from 1 p.m. until service time on Sunday, Feb. 23, at McKibben and Guinn.
Allen was born on Dec. 4, 1982, in Grenada, the son of William Donald Brown and Susan Ables Ritchey. He was a son, brother, husband and father, who is described as devoted and loving. He enjoyed playing horseshoes with his dad, Dale; having fun with his daughters hunting and fishing; building things with his hands; hunting for antiques of many kinds and spending time with his family. Allen proudly served in the Army National Guard and was deployed in Operation Enduring Freedom.
His deddy, William Donald Brown; his maternal grandparents, Percy and Frances Ables, and his paternal grandparents, William and Emma Brown, preceded Allen in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Jennifer Kelley Brown; his children, sons, Gage Kendall and Grant Brown, and daughters, Laura Brooke Brown and Ashlee Elizabeth Brown; a future grandchild; his mother, Susan Ables Ritchey (Dale); brothers, Shane Brown and Dale Ritchey; sister, Melinda Ritchey, and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
The family would like to thank Allen’s friends and family for their love and consideration during this time. Allen will be deeply missed, but will be remembered forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
In lieu of flowers, any donations directed to the funeral home will be given to the family.
