When planning began for the annual Meet the Raiders athlete and cheerleader recognition, Kirk Academy Booster Club President Lacy Rose Hall and other members of the club were looking for a way to get not just supporters of athletics together, but school supporters as well.
That’s when the group came up with what may be the best idea yet for the school to get all supporters at the school at the same time.
Thus, the idea to host a Back-to-School Bash to celebrate both the start of the 2021-22 school year, along with the beginning of the athletic season was created. The event will begin at 5 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m. at the school campus on Friday, Aug. 6.
“As the planning began for the annual Meet the Raiders, we wanted to get our entire Kirk Raider family together for a fun-filled night as we kickoff both the school and athletic seasons,” Hall said. “We will have blowups for all ages, Mom and Pop Food Truck will have food available and the Get Rolled Ice Cream Truck will be there. The Raider Shop will have Kirk Academy merchandise available for sale.”
At 7 p.m., introduction of athletes and cheerleaders begins. Those student-athletes to be recognized will be high school and junior varsity football players, cross country runners, the soccer team, softball players and all cheerleading groups. The Kirk Peppers will also perform.
