Former Kirk Academy assistant football coach Mike McLendon and his family lost their home in Kilmichael to a fire last Saturday morning.
According to Kilmichael Volunteer Fire Chief Dave Eldridge units were dispatched at 5:01 a.m. last Saturday morning. Eldridge said the house was fully involved when units arrived.
In addition to the home, the McLendon’s lost two automobiles and two family pets.
McLendon spent last season as the head junior varsity coach and was the varsity defensive coordinator for the Raiders, who finished 9-6 and the Class AAAA runner-up to Tri-County.
