The Kirk Academy boys soccer team took part in the Midsouth Association of Independent Schools playoffs against St. Augustine School of Ridgeland last Monday night at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland.
Kirk battled the Gryphon for a scoreless first half only to see the opposition score a goal early in the second half and late in the game to record a 2-0 victory.
St. Augustine School advanced to the semifinals.
“Our guys gave them all they wanted and then some,” Kirk coach Chris Wilkinson said. “We had some chances to score and didn’t take advantage of them.”
Wilkinson praised the effort of his goalie, Tanner Mooring.
“He has been a force for us all season,” Wilkinson said. “He makes some saves he isn’t suppose to make.”
With the loss, the Raiders finished the season with a 2-5 mark.
