Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Bethlehem Methodist Church in Kilmichael for Miss Gladys Ruth Shaffer, 95, of the Bethlehem Community, who died on Saturday, April 20, in Vaiden. Burial followed in Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Janie Mortimer and the Rev. Neville Vanderburg officiated. Visitation was held from 2:30 p.m. until service time on Thursday, April 25, at the church.
Gladys Ruth was born on March 16, 1929. She was a member of Bethlehem Methodist Church.
Her parents, William Henry and Jessie Clyde Shaffer; her brothers, William Henry Shaffer Jr., Jack Shaffer and Morris Shaffer, and two nephews, preceded Gladys Ruth in death.
Survivors include a nephew and a great niece.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Bethlehem Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Bethlehem Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 606 Bethlehem Church Rd., Kilmichael, MS 39747.
