The Grinch remains behind bars in the Grenada County Jail after being arrested last weekend and charged with Christmas tree tampering.
The incident occurred Saturday night during the annual Downtown District Association Christmas Tree Lighting Festival.
“He’s not going to ruin Christmas,” Grenada County Sheriff’s Deputy Donald Wilson, the arresting officer, said.
The event was attended by nearly 100 people that enjoyed music, horse-drawn carriage rides and hot chocolate.
“We were thrilled to unveil the new tree our donors and sponsors helped purchase,” Chair Deborah Bailey said.
