Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, in the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada for Doyle O. Tartt, 84, of Grenada, who died on Tuesday, April 1, at his residence. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
Doyle was born on Sept. 8, 1940, in Arkansas, the son of the late Jimmie Paul Tartt Sr. and the late Martha Ellen Pilgrim Tartt. He was the owner and operator of Doyle Tartt Concrete in Grenada. He attended Hebron Baptist Church and enjoyed going to gospel singings. He was a longtime member of the Redgrass Hunting Club.
In addition to his parents, one son, Michael Tartt; his sister, Jean Tartt, and three brothers, James Tartt, Daniel Eugene Tartt and David Tartt, preceded Doyle in death.
Survivors include, his daughter, Shelia Melton of Grenada; two sons, Wayne Procella of Grenada and Ricky Procella of Louisiana; three brothers, Kirl Tartt of Elliott, Donald Tartt of Holcomb and Jimmie Tartt Jr. of Calhoun City; nine grandchildren, Miranda Procella, Jennifer Procella, Andrew Jackson, Heather Procella, Daniel Jackson, Tiffany Tartt, Kenneth Procella, Brianna Tartt and Davin Tartt and 11 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.
