Detectives with the Grenada Police Department are currently investigating two separate Thanksgiving weekend shootings that occurred less than three hours apart Saturday evening.
GPD Chief George Douglas confirmed just after 7:30 p.m. that there were no injuries sustained as a result of a pair of shootings less than a mile from each other on Sunset Drive.
The first shooting was reported just after 4:30 p.m. at Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen located at 747 Sunset Dr. The second shooting was reported just after 7 p.m. at AK Vape & Pizza located at 91 Sunset Dr.
A large presence of police personnel was on the scene of the Popeyes shooting for nearly an hour conducting initial investigations. Several shots were fired and bullets allegedly stuck the building and shattered an upper window.
Numerous shell casings were marked as evidence at the scene of the AK Vape & Pizza shooting Saturday night.
Detectives were observed marking shell casings in front of the building and in the parking lot following the shooting at AK Vape, which also shattered the front door leaving shards of glass on the entryway and sidewalk.
No arrests have been made.
Both shootings remain under investigation.
