A Grenada County woman is currently behind bars on Attempted Murder charges following a late afternoon dispute last Friday in Elliott.
According to Grenada County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Ricky Williamson II, following initial investigations Mary Francis Hearn was arrested after deputies responded to a stabbing at 439 Ligon Rd. The initial call was made at approximately 6:11 p.m. and when deputies arrived, they discovered a male bleeding from an apparent stab wound to the neck. He was later identified as Fredrick Dewayne Stokes.

Stokes was transported by MedStat Emergency Medical Services to a landing zone at Morgan’s Quick Stop in Elliott where he was then transported by helicopter to a trauma hospital. His condition was not made available.
Hearn is currently being held at Grenada County Jail on a $200,000 bond.
The case remains under investigation.
