C Spire, a diversified telecommunications and technology services company, is rapidly expanding its 20,000 miles of fiber infrastructure and will soon offer multi-gigabit home fiber internet with speeds of up to 8 gigs to 20 neighborhoods in Grenada with more than 1,800 homes.
C Spire trucks and crews will be in Grenada neighborhoods starting this month. Fiber construction in the first three neighborhoods will be completed within the next three months.
“The continued expansion of fiber infrastructure is a priority for C Spire in Mississippi,” Toby DuBois, general manager of home services for C Spire, said. “Fiber internet provides residents with the connectivity they need for education, healthcare and business. We are thrilled to offer reliable home internet to the residents of Grenada.”
C Spire’s fiber is faster than the national average, has higher bandwidths, and is over 99.99 percent reliable. Grenada residents can check the availability of C Spire fiber in their area by visiting www.cspire.com/fiber
C Spire’s fiber expansion has the support of community leaders in Grenada.
“The City of Grenada appreciates the financial investment that C Spire is making for technology in our community,” Mayor Charles Latham said. “Fiber internet is a critical utility that will offer Grenada residents improved communications and connectivity.”
C Spire began offering wireless service in Grenada in 2002 and has had a retail store there since 2005. The company now provides fiber internet services to businesses and residents, and a full suite of products for businesses and government entities.
“We are excited about C Spire’s fiber investment in our town,” Matthew Harrison, CEO of the Greater Grenada Partnership, said. “The new fiber options in Grenada will significantly enhance our infrastructure, benefiting residents with remote work and learning opportunities while driving economic growth and development in our community.”
C Spire first launched fiber service to cities across Mississippi in 2014, and has built a thriving network spanning more than 150 communities in Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and Tennessee.
