January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. This month serves as a time to bring attention to human trafficking all over the world.
Human trafficking has been named one of the world’s fastest growing criminal industries.
It impacts every country in the world, and every state in the nation. Mississippi has been called a “hub” for trafficking due to the intersection of I-55 and I-20 in central Mississippi, linking some of the largest cities in the southeast United States.
As this month continues, we hope you will take the time to learn more about human trafficking and how you can help put an end to it.
You can find out more information and donate to help end human trafficking by visiting www.nomorems.org, or by following @nomoretraffickingms on Facebook or Instagram.
Mississippians Against Human Trafficking is committed to educating the public on the signs of trafficking and how to help. They are also actively working to open a home for girls under 18 who have become victims.
We hope you will take this month to help inform those around you of the realities of human trafficking.
To report human trafficking call the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 888-373-7888.
