Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2021, in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Carroll County for Chris Douglas James, 53, of Oakland, who died on May 21, at his residence. Dr. Lowell Ingram officiated.
Chris was born in Winona on March 3, 1968, to Douglas and Bobbie Ann James, the first of two children. He grew up living the country life in a good neighborhood. He enjoyed hunting ducks, dove and deer with his family. He was a good draftsman and became a master plumber. He worked in parts stores and with his father in the family plumbing business until becoming disabled.
Since his childhood, Chris loved to go to the mud sports in Grenada County. His little sister often tagged along with him. He was a good-hearted man and a good big brother, son and uncle. He was loved by his family and will be greatly missed. He is finally with his parents and grandparents enjoying peace and joy forever. Thank you Jesus for being there to help Chris home.
Survivors include, his sister, Kimberly Ann James Ables and her husband, Steve; three nieces, Kaylee, Chloe and Madison and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
