Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the Mortimer National Funeral Home Chapel in Grenada for Janet Sue Hinton Harris, 71, of Scobey, who died on Sunday, May 8, in Grenada. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, in New Lebanon Cemetery near Cairo in Tishomingo County. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until service time on Thursday, May 12, at Mortimer National Funeral Home.
Janet was born on Aug. 13, 1950, in Michigan, the daughter of the late Charles Gilbert Hinton and Thelma Lambert Hinton. She received her master’s degree in theater arts and enjoyed being a teacher for many years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Grenada.
Her parents preceded Janet in death.
Survivors include, her husband, Jerry Harris of Scobey; stepdaughter, Debra Franklin of Grenada; step granddaughter, Jamie Harris of Livingston, Texas, and step great grandson, Jude Heavens of Livingston, Texas.
