A private family memorial service was held on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service for Mrs. Deborah Susan Butler Kilgore, 63, of Gore Springs, who died on Monday, Feb. 1, in Memphis, Tenn.
Debbie was born on June 8, 1957, in Webster County to Elliott Cleo and Bessie Wilda Spruill Butler. She taught school in the Grenada School District for 33 years, retiring in 2004. As a teacher, she touched the lives of many children through the years. She enjoyed cooking, shopping and taking care of her family, especially her granddaughters.
Her parents and siblings, James Elliott Butler, Lynn Jennette McMullen and Peggie Marie Butler, preceded Debbie in death.
Survivors include, her husband, William David Kilgore Sr.; daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Jenkins (Chris) of Water Valley; son, Kenneth Randle Poss of Nashville, Tenn.; stepson, William David Kilgore II (Amy) of Holcomb; two wonderful granddaughters, Addyson Grace Kilgore and Hayden Quinn Jenkins; sister, Martha Lou Taylor of Alabama and the father of her children, Dr. Randy Poss.
