Today is the Republican runoff election for a representative candidate for the 2nd Congressional District, and polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Two candidates are on the ballot: Thomas L. Carey and Brian Flowers.
According to Circuit Clerk Michele Redditt-Garcia, if you cast a Democratic ballot in the primary election March 10, you cannot crossover and vote in the Republican runoff. Redditt-Garcia said if you cast a Republican ballot March 10, or if you did not vote in the primary election, you may vote in the Republican runoff.
Grenada County’s pick for the Republican Congressional ticket was close, and Carey came away with a win.
