UMMC News Release
Residents in the Grenada region in need of testing for COVID-19 can provide specimens during drive-through collections at the University of Mississippi Medical Center Grenada.
Those experiencing symptoms can call 227-7200 to be screened by a UMMC provider. If they’re determined to be at high risk, they’ll be given an appointment for mobile collection at the hospital location closest to them. Symptoms of the virus include fever, severe coughing, sore throat and shortness of breath.
Screening hours via telephone are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
“We are taking a proactive approach to prevent the spread of this disease,” said Dodie McElmurray, chief executive officer of UMMC Grenada and UMMC Holmes County. “We are in regular contact with city and county leadership to make sure we are doing what is needed to protect the community and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in both Grenada and Holmes County.”
