Heading into this last week’s District 1-AAA Tournament at Kirk Academy, the Raiders and Raiderettes knew that they were already qualified for the North 3A Tournament.
They set their sights on getting the top seed when they opened play Thursday.
When the weekend ended, the teams fell short of their goals as both finished third.
The Raiderettes dropped a 50-39 decision to Clarksdale Lee to find themselves in the consolation game against Marshall.
Kirk came out of the gate with a 12-2 lead before the Lady Patriots rallied to lead by a point. The Raiderettes broke open a close game in the final period to win a 53-42 decision.
With the win, KA improves to 22-9 on the season.
