It’s the peak of flu season nationally, and local activity has increased, putting many ‘under the weather’ recently.
Locally, hundreds of people have been affected during this flu season. In fact some medical personnel said they are seeing increasing numbers.
“Monday there we saw about 10, and then on Tuesday that number doubled,” one area clinic worker said. “For then on we’ve been pretty flooded, with flu and flu-like symptoms.”
Pharmacist Fair Pender Jones at Sav-Mor Drugs said she and her staff knew the flu season was here, and this week activity increased.
“This week really hit us hard,” Jones said. “We’ve had a lot of people getting antibiotics, cough syrup and fever reducers like Tylenol.”
