Terry L. Cauthen

Funeral services for Terry L. Cauthen of Carmack were Wednesday, Jan. 8, in the chapel of Oliver Funeral Home with burial following in Midway Cemetery near Vaiden.
Mr. Cauthen, 61, died at his home in Carmack on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020. He was born in Winona to Ben M. and Ora Bernice Cauthen on Aug. 15, 1958. Mr. Cauthen was very skilled in his work in construction. His work in the Historic District of French Camp will be used and enjoyed by many for years to come. He was a member of Shiloh Independent Methodist Church in Carmack.
Mr. Cauthen is survived by his wife Sandra Cauthen of Carmack; two sons, Terry Cauthen Jr. of Kosciusko and Jonathan “Jay” Cauthen of Carmack; three sisters, Theresa Cauthen of Oxford, Nancy Sisney of Kosciusko, and Barbara Smith of Grenada; three brothers, Walter Cauthen, Tim Cauthen, and Cody Cauthen, all of Vaiden; 10 grandchildren; three nieces; two nephews; and a host of great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and niece Chassie “Boo” Cauthen.

Carolyn Ann Hendon Costilow

Mrs. Carolyn Ann Hendon Costilow, 79, of Grenada, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2020. at Grenada Living Center.
She was born Dec. 6, 1940, in Holcomb to Walter Fredrick and Lily Marie Clanton Hendon. Carolyn was a member of the Grenada Church of God where she served as church pianist for many years. She had a tremendous love for her church and Jesus, and it was evident in her daily life. She retired after a long career as bookkeeper in the Grenada School District.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at the Grenada Church of God with the Rev. James McElroy and the Rev. Rodney Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the Sparta Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service Sunday at the Grenada Church of God.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years Jacky Costilow; two daughters, Ramona Kitchens of Carrollton and Crystal Lyles of Hernando; two sons, Gary Costilow and Josh Costilow, both of Grenada; two sisters, Peggy Andrews of Grenada and Elaine Dungan of Carroll County; one brother Clyde Hendon of Kentucky; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Cooley, Peyton Cooley, J.D. Costilow, Trevor Costilow, Jerremy Lucius and John Lucius.

Dorothy Hayden Hayward

Mrs. Dorothy Lynn Hayden Hayward, 79, of Holcomb, passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020. at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford.
Dorothy was born April 6, 1940, in Holcomb to Dotson Kendall and Mary Gary Hayden. Dorothy was a member of the Holcomb United Methodist Church. She had worked at the Little Red Schoolhouse in Greenwood and was instrumental in the formation of special needs programs across the state. Dorothy also worked as the dietitian at Grenada Lake Medical Center for 17 years. She also had worked in the family farm supply business and culminated her career with her flower business near her home, “Crazy Lady’s Flower House.”
Funeral services were Wednesday, Jan. 8, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with the Rev. Rick Shepherd and the Rev. Kevin Tribble officiating. Interment was in the Holcomb Cemetery.
Survivors include three sons, Clayton Douglas Hayward (Catherine) of Nashville, Robert Hayden “Bob” Hayward of Holcomb and Marcus Leroy Hayward (Celina) of Holcomb; one sister Mary Ethel Muns (Roger) of Brandon; nine grandchildren, Holly Hughes, Dusty Hayward, Alexa Hayward, Jeremy Hayward, Anna Hayden Hayward, Kristen Winter, Macie McNatt, Jessica Haggard and Chad Hoback; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Howard Hayward; two sons, Gary Dotson Hayward and Howard Kendall Hayward, and a sister, Judy Hayden Mims.
Pallbearers were Danny Wayne Bennett, Ronnie Hamilton, Dusty Hayward, Jeremy Hayward, Steve Higginbotham, Rusty Mims, Eddie Muns, John Terry and Greg Winters.

Joe Sanders Hughes

Funeral services for Joe Sanders Hughes will be held Saturday Jan. 11, at noon at Burning Bush M.B. Church.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, also at Burning Bush M.B. Church.
Mr. Hughes, 81, of Grenada was born on June 6. 1938.
Survivors include 10 children and a stepson: Richard Hughes,  Hallie Hughes, Jacqueline Hughes, JoeAnne Hughes, Jonathan Hughes, Eric Hughes, Randy Hughes, Stan Amos; stepson Greg Amos; four sisters, Dorothy Foreman of Memphis, Juanita Washington, Anne Mae Watt and Earlie Lewis,  all of Grenada;  22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Three brothers preceded him in death, James Willie Hughes, Limmie Hughes and Jessie Hughes; as did son Anthony Hughes.

Doris M. Jordan

Funeral services for Doris M. Jordan of Bartlett, Tenn., formerly of Charleston, are Saturday at 1 p.m. at Abundant Harvest Church with burial in St. Luke Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Jordan, 44, died  on Dec. 28, 2019. She was born on March 10, 1975.

Richard Gray Lott

Mr. Richard Gray Lott, 82, of Grenada, passed away Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood.
He was born Nov. 9, 1937, in Grenada County to Richard Grady and Eva Bell Gray Lott. Mr. Lott retired as a Project Supervisor with the Mississippi Department of Transportation after working there for 30 years. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. An avid outdoorsman, he found much joy in crappie fishing, squirrel hunting and cutting grass. Mr. Lott was a voracious reader and always enjoyed learning and reading about our history. While he enjoyed many hobbies, he enjoyed spending time with his wife and family more than anything.
Funeral services were Thursday, Jan. 9, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with the Rev. Sherman Barnette officiating. Interment was in the Grenada Memorial Garden.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years Mae Harper Lott; two daughters, Rhonda Bailey of Grenada and Brenda Shipp (Felix) of Grenada; one son Richard Gray Lott Jr. (Patty) of Grenada; five grandchildren, Angela Deveney (Mac), Stephanie Bailey, Haley Little (Marlin), Austin Lott and Alyssa Humphreys; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Devin Shipp.
