Five county posts up for vote

The election cycle continues as county election commissioners finishes out their respected terms.
According to Grenada County Circuit Clerk Michele Redditt-Garcia, the qualifying window has opened for the county’s five election commissioner seats.
Redditt-Garcia said names of those who qualify to run for the seat will appear on the November General Election ballot.
Those seeking the positions have ample time to decide if they want to run as the qualifying deadline is June 1. Potential candidates must turn in 50 signatures from residents in their respected district to qualify.
Redditt-Garcia said candidates will also have to live in the district that they are seeking office.
Wanda Ward is currently the election commissioner for District One.  She was elected to her first term following the retirement of  former commissioner Ann Hudson.
