More than a dozen officials elected in this year’s primary and general election were sworn in Monday at the Grenada County Courthouse.
Chancery Judge Mitchell Lundy, Jr. presided over the swearing-in ceremony inside the courtroom, which was also filled with family and friends of those elected to office.
According to Grenada County Chancery Clerk Johnny Hayward, the ceremony took place Monday due to several of the newly-elected officials attending training after the new year, when the ceremony normally takes place.
The newly-elected officials will take office on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020.
