The University of Mississippi Medical Center Grenada and the UMMC Cancer Center and Research Institute staff invite the community to join them as they officially open a cancer clinic and cancer infusion services at Grenada.
A ribbon cutting will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at UMMC Grenada, 960 JK Avent Drive.
UMMC administrators, including Carroll-County native Dr. LouAnn Woodward, vice chancellor for health affairs and dean of the school of medicine, and Grenada community leaders are among those scheduled to speak.
“Providing cancer services in Grenada is the culmination of the efforts of several individuals at Grenada and at UMMC,” said Dr. John Ruckdeschel, CCRI director and a medical oncologist in the Interdisciplinary Thoracic Oncology Program. UMMC Grenada and the UMMC CCRI began offering a weekly clinic and infusion services in late August.
