Fair elected county’s top law officer

For the first time in its 149-year history, Grenada County elected its first black sheriff on Tuesday night.
Forty-nine-year-old Rolando Fair earned a victory on election night and will be sworn in two months from now as Grenada County Sheriff.
Fair defeated Ricky Downs with 3,862 votes to 3,389, garnering 53 percent of the vote.
